Donal's latest novel follows Jack as he grows up in a family shrouded in secrets, tragedy, and trauma, trying to discover himself as he goes from boy to king in his uncles' garage, under the watchful eye of his loving grandparents and his hypnotising aunt, surrounded by questions about his mother and father. Where Are The Kings is a beautiful and hilarious meditation on masculinity, family, and growing up, praised by Joanna Cannon, M. L. Stedman, and Rachel Joyce.
Donal will be joining us to talk about writing about tragedy, the pains of adolescence, the joys of mechanics and a garage to play in, and more, before signing copies of his books.
