The festival begins at the University of Glasgow on Friday with a heritage symposium exploring how traditional knowledge, oral histories, music, dance, language and cultural practices can support more inclusive education. This will be followed by an evening concert featuring Natalia Kucharova, TuFlamenco, A. Kovács és a Cigány Karaván with Kasko San Dance Group, and Duda Band. On Saturday, the festival moves to Glasgow South Destiny Church on Pollokshaws Road for a lively Youth Festival featuring music, dance, rap, talent showcases, workshops, games and interactive activities. The celebration continues into the evening with performances from Ando Glaso Collective, The Lautars, Duda Band, Florin de la Tinca și Marcel de la Lupoaica, and Jázmin. Bringing internationally acclaimed performers together with Scotland’s Roma artists and emerging young talent, Ando Glaso Roma Fest offers audiences an exciting and welcoming opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of Roma culture in the heart of Glasgow. Entry to the main festival programme is free. On Saturday there will be a late night after party in the Marlborough in Shawlands.
