Join Sarah from Other Stitch for an embroidery and appliqué workshop, expect a hands-on afternoon where I’ll teach you techniques to embellish and repair textiles using reclaimed materials. You’ll walk away with an embellished cap and the skills to take on similar projects at home. Hosted at South Block as part of Concrete Natures Pop Up, you will also be able to shop from a handpicked selection of Scottish creatives and small indie brands. You are welcome to come along alone or with friends for an afternoon of mindful hand sewing. What will I make? An embellished cap completely personal and unique to you. What will I learn? You will be taught a variety of embroidery and appliqué techniques to embellish and repair textiles. No experience necessary, just come along and learn, I’ll guide you through the process and help build up your confidence. What will be provided? Everything you need for the workshop will be provided on the day. There will be a selection of caps, textiles and embroidery threads to choose from, as well as all the necessary equipment for embroidery and appliqué. You will also be given printed instructions which you can keep for future reference. All textiles and caps have been carefully sourced second hand and checked thoroughly for quality. Please note this workshop is suitable for ages 16+
