About This Event

There will be an Autism-Friendly Family Workshop - Treasure Boxes at The Burrell Collection on September 19, 2026 where participants can engage in fun hands-on activities related to treasure boxes free of charge.

Fun hands-on activities themed around treasure boxes and our amazing objects. Join the team at the Burrell for an opportunity to handle real museum objects from our treasure boxes – including a 3000+ year old canopic jar lid! You will also have the chance to imagine your own treasure box. This event will take place in the Learning Space at the museum. To provide a relaxed environment, there will be a quiet space available Restricted numbers at the session Activities can be explored in participants own time Sensory bags available to borrow Please note the wider museum will be open to general visitors without restriction to numbers and audio visual displays will be on. This session will be repeated in the afternoon with no restrictions.
