Talk - 7 - 8pm Live music - 8.30 - 9.30pm From the island of South Uist, award-winning poet, novelist and actor Angus Peter Campbell will re-read a talk by folklorist Donald Archie MacDonald that he first heard in 1992, a copy of which was given to him after the event by Donald Archie himself. The talk delves into the relationship between storytelling and literature and is as relevant now as it was then. It will be read in Gaelic, with Donald Archie's own English translation provided simultaneously. The talk will be followed by a music performance from Màiri Callan. Màiri is a singer, harpist and composer from North Lanarkshire but who has strong ties to North Uist. Together with Gaelic singers Wilma Kennedy and Ruairidh Gray, all dual Mòd gold medallists, she will present work from the classical Gaelic song repertoire.
