Doors Open Days in East Dunbartonshire is an annual free festival organised by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust (EDLC) as part of Scotland's national Doors Open Days initiative every September. It grants free public access to historic buildings, civic spaces, working facilities, and behind-the-scenes tours across towns including Bearsden, Milngavie, Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs, and Lennoxtown. Programme Highlights: Auld Kirk Museum (Kirkintilloch): A 1644 Category A-listed building featuring an 18th-century pulpit, a 1663 Gerhard Koster bell, and local historic artefacts. Kirkintilloch Town Hall & "Made in Kirkintilloch": Showcases the town's industrial past as the "Canal Capital of Scotland" alongside interactive heritage displays and community events. Gavin's Mill (Milngavie): A 16th-century historic corn mill powered by Allander Water, offering milling demonstrations, quern stone exhibits, and historical archives.
