Helen McCookerybook returns to Glasgow to present a set of brand new songs about the 1977 punk scene in Brighton which will appear on an album 'The Darkside Truth' (April 2027, Spinout Nuggets). Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, she found herself in Brighton at the height of the punk scene there, playing bass with the notorious Joby and the Hooligans. There's a lot of nostalgia about punk, but it was a time when terrible things happened too: the song cycle reflects both sides of the subculture and reflects things that happened in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England at that time. Bring your good and bad memories, or your imagination! Lorraine Lucas is a Glaswegian songstress who organises songwriting retreats and hosts the Folkestone Songwriting Festival. Tonight she will present songs from her own brand new album.
