There will be readings from Megan Rudden, joined by Rosie Roberts and Aimee Ballinger. Readings begin at 6:15 pm sharp.

About the pamphlet

Plastic Milk by Megan Rudden is a hybrid artist’s book exploring the strange, tidal territory of motherhood. Moving between memoir, research and material practice, it considers the intimate entanglements between the maternal body and the environments it inhabits.

The pamphlet follows the substances that pass between us, and the things we cannot keep outside: chemicals, children, grief, care and capitalism. Through water, membranes, toxicity and the salt marsh, Megan’s writing traces the porous boundaries between mother and child, body and environment, and the domestic and ecological. What happens when we stop imagining the maternal body—and the individual self—as sealed and autonomous?

Plastic Milk is an unsettling meditation on motherhood, ecological entanglement and what it means to be porous.

This event is part of Glasgow Art Weekend; there will be various openings around the city this evening that we hope you can attend after.

Southblock Access

South Block is a couple of minutes walk from Argyle Street train station and sits parallel to Trongate, directly behind Trongate 103. It is also a five minute walk from many of the bus stops situated on Stockwell Street. There is no free car parking but there is an NCP car park directly across the road.
