Strategem is pleased to offer an in-person Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (SCPLH) training course at 4 Woodside Place.This SCQF Level 6 qualification is designed for individuals who are looking to apply for a Personal Licence in Scotland and for those working towards roles where they may be responsible for authorising the sale of alcohol

Times: 9am - 4pm

Location: Strategem head office, 4 Woodside Place

Cost: £100 per person

Delivery: In person

The course is delivered by Strategem and covers the key areas of Scottish licensing legislation and the responsibilities associated with operating licensed premises.

COURSE CONTENTThe training covers:

• The role, responsibilities and functions of Licensing Boards and Licensing Standards Officers

• The application process for a Personal Licence

• The application process for Premises Licences and Occasional Licences

• Protection of children from harm

• Operating schedules and risk assessments

• Drunk and disorderly behaviour

• Licensed hours

• Maintaining order on licensed premises

• The responsible retail sale of alcohol

• The roles and responsibilities of a Personal Licence Holder

• Unauthorised licensable activities

• Rights of entry to licensed premises

• Alcohol strengths and the effects of alcohol on the human body

The course combines tutor-led training, learning materials, guided discussion and practical class exercises, providing an engaging and accessible approach to the qualification.

QUALIFICATION

The Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders is an SCQF Level 6 qualification awarded by The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS).

The qualification is recognised within Scotland's licensing framework and is the required qualification for those wishing to apply for a Personal Licence.

Please note: successfully completing the SCPLH qualification does not itself grant a Personal Licence. Following successful completion, candidates must make a separate application for their Personal Licence through the relevant Licensing Board.
