Springburn Auditorium CIC has been running a monthly drop-in sewing-class, with a focus on clothing-repairs. As our venue is getting too cold during the winter, we have decided to continue the monthly Sew You Can! sessions at our neighbouring community centre, the Balgrayhill Community Centre, until March. Join us for a relaxed community setting to practice your sewing skills (hand-sewing and sewing-machine), or work on your own projects alongside others. Bring along any of your own items that need some love! If you don’t have anything, you are just as welcome to practice on our fabrics. All materials will be provided. Our facilitator Nicki (they/them) can show you e.g. how to replace buttons, patch holes, take up hems, fix ripped seams, or pimp up your clothes in DIY ways. At each session so far, we've had some regulars return as well as new people join us. All welcome! • Address: Balgrayhill Community Centre, 139 Balgrayhill Road G21 3AE • Dates: last Sunday of the month - on 25th October, 29th November, 31st January and 28th February. • Time: 1pm - 4pm, drop-in basis (stay for a little while or the whole time). • FREE for everyone! There is a bus stop right outside Balgrayhill Centre, called "Mosesfield Street" (bus numbers 71A, 72, 72A, 87, 88, 88A, 88C, 329). For car arrivals, there is free street parking only. PLEASE, DO NOT PARK INSIDE "PARKGATE SUPERMARKET CAR PARK". Accessibility info: We will be in the upstairs room at Balgrayhill Centre, which has step access only. This room is not wheelchair accessible. We will play some music in the background but we are happy to adjust the volume or take some music breaks, please don't hesitate to let us know.
