The Sonica Glasgow festival brings Scottish premiere “Her voice is a spectacular thing: a cut-glass vibrato that brings to mind ANOHNI, or the unearthly tremble of late-period Scott Walker” to the Tramway in Glasgow on 2026-09-27.
Scottish premiere “Her voice is a spectacular thing: a cut-glass vibrato that brings to mind ANOHNI, or the unearthly tremble of late-period Scott Walker” – Pitchfork Set in a darkened, ambiguous space, Hand To Mouth To is a mysterious performance. Lauded singer Keeley Forsyth has enlisted artistic collaborators to expand and rework her Hand to Mouth EP of 2025 for this reimagining, including pianist Matthew Bourne who joins on-stage, plus sonic interventions from Ross Downes. Excerpts from ‘The No-End House’, a specially commissioned response to the EP by acclaimed novelist Jean-Baptiste del Amo, slither in and out of a performance moving from starkly intimate to soaringly remote. What results is an experiment between song and theatre monologue, between gig and play, where new causalities and associations are made between Del Amo’s narrative and the song cycle. Keeley Forsyth – voice and narrator Matthew Bourne – piano, memorymoog Jean-Baptiste del Amo – story Ross Downes – sound design Colin Alexander – cello Laura Ducceschi – producer FOH Sound – James King Project made possible by support from the PRSF Beyond Borders and Outlands Network. Prices: £18 general, £9 concession. Sonica Pass holders get 25% off tickets. Free tickets for carers. Concession rates apply for: Senior Citizen; Unemployed/Universal Credit; Student; Disabled Person; Under 21. Tramway bookings are subject to transaction fees: £1.50 online, £1.75 by phone.
