The Stained Glass Residency will take place at RDW Glass in Glasgow from September 7, 2026, and will offer a unique opportunity for people to learn stained glass techniques.
RDW Glass are delighted to announce their first Glasgow-based Stained Glass Residency, taking place over 3 weeks in September 2026. This unique opportunity, led by glass artists Keira Mclean and Rich Welsh, invites artists of all backgrounds to explore stained glass as a storytelling medium. Located in the East End of Glasgow, the residency offers a nurturing environment in a working glass studio to develop your skills, collaborate with fellow artists and contribute to the city's storied tradition of glass craftsmanship. The residency covers all aspects of a working studio from design, painting, leading and soldering, repair and restoration, copper foiling and creating a collaborative stained glass window. Our work is about unearthing the forgotten or neglected histories of everyday people whilst promoting and sharing knowledge of our endangered craft. We want to build community with other artists like us and add to the rich and diverse landscape of stained glass. Date: Monday 7th of September to Monday 28th of September 2026 (3 weeks - weekends off) Location: RDW Glass Studio, Dennistoun, East End, Glasgow, Scotland. Price: £1,500 (This price includes a £500 deposit to be paid to secure your place). Please note: While accommodation is not provided, we can recommend excellent places to stay in the area. Artists based in Scotland can commute to our studio.
