Andrea Raffaele Iannuzzi runs a recurring series of workshops on painting and art techniques from his studio in Glasgow.​ Combining his classical art studies and years of experience and personal research and experimentation with traditional and contemporary materials and techniques, the workshops cover tools and methods of art making, such as canvas stretching and priming, oil and watercolour paint making and more. An often lost part of routine studio practise, the production of one's own art supplies allows artists more autonomy over the quality of surfaces and materials they use, whilst also offering much greater economy. By being able to participate in the process from beginning to end, artists gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of their artwork and are capable of achieving better results and create artwork of a superior quality. The workshops explore the craftsmanship of painting, from preparing a painting surface to making paint from scratch, following traditional methods and recipes, with attention to modern mediums and sustainable materials. The workshops include: • Canvas making • Painting panel making • Watercolour paint making • Oil paint making The workshops run monthly on weekends in the artist's studio in Crownpoint. Individual sessions can be arranged on requests.
