TRANS//CODED, a monthly coding meetup for trans people, will be hosted at Glasgow Zine Library on 23 September 2026. The event is free to attend and focuses on discussions regarding coding projects and learning.
Learning to code? Working on a project? Want to start coding but don’t know how? Trans//Coded is a monthly group to discuss all things code.
Please note: this event will be held in person at Glasgow Zine Library. This event is for people who identify as trans or non-binary.
Part of our Community Led Programme: events run by and for members of our community.
Learning to code? Working on a project? Working on a game? Want to start coding but don’t know where? Need help figuring out particular software? These monthly meetups are a chance to share and discuss any coding-related projects with a group of like-minded peers. Those just starting out with coding are absolutely welcome to come along and get some help in a relaxed environment. Some monthly meetups will have a guest speaker/workshop covering a specific topic or software.
All you need to bring is: yourself, any project you want to share, and a laptop (a very small number are available to use in the sessions, please get in touch beforehand to let us know).
The goal for these meetups is to create a thriving environment for trans people to share knowledge and passion for: coding, computing and any/all associated interests!
About the Community Led Programme:
The Community Led Programme at Glasgow Zine Library is made up of events and groups run by and for members of our local community. These events are volunteer-run and free to attend. Find out more here: glasgowzinelibrary.com/community-led-leaders
Ticket information for this event:
There will be 15 attendees maximum, and the event will feature comfort breaks. During this event, participants will be involved in: whole group discussions, hands on activities, sharing work that has been created.
This event will take place at the GZL space on Albert Road in Govanhill. You can find directions here.
You may be asked to wear a mask at this event.GZL provides hand sanitizer and KN95 masks for participants. If you would like to attend and request that all other participants wear masks, you can either ask our staff member on the day or email us ahead of time at glasgowzinelibrary@gmail.com and we will ask all who are able to mask to do so. Additionally, we have an air purifier with HEPA filters in the library.

GZL pledges to support The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. As part of this pledge we may participate in strikes called in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. If this event falls on a strike day and is cancelled, we will work with event leaders to reschedule the event ASAP. Participants will also have the option of receiving an immediate refund for any ticket purchases and travel booked to attend.
