Hear one of the most famous conservation stories from someone directly involved - an iconic species saved from the very brink of extinction

The saving of the Mauritius Kestrel is one of the most successful wildlife restoration stories in the world – the iconic recovery of a species that was on the very brink of extinction. Come along and hear from someone who was directly involved!

Lucy Garrett teaches ecology and conservation at Hartpury University. She has worked on conservation and research projects on Ascension Island, New Zealand and Mauritius, where she lived for four years, working with the Mauritius Wildlife Foundation.

As well as talking about the famous Mauritius Kestrel, she will cover the natural history of the island and other recovery projects there, as well as “some dodo digs” and “some extinct raptor species” – this should be a fascinating evening.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. There’s a bar; under-18s must be accompanied.
