Join us for a unique experience combining a guided appreciation walk along the Shankill Tree Trail with a creative cyanotype workshop.
The Walk
We’ll explore the remarkable trees of the Shankill Tree Trail — a fascinating mix of native and exotic species, deciduous and evergreen, ancient and newly planted.
Along the way, we’ll discover how trees contribute to our wellbeing, biodiversity and natural environment, while collecting a few fallen or suitable leaves to inspire our artwork.
The Cyanotype Workshop
After our walk, we’ll head indoors to St. Anne’s Resource Centre at St. Anne’s Church, Shankill, where visual artist Silvina Sisterna will guide us through the process of creating our own beautiful cyanotype print using leaves from the trail.
The event will be facilitated by Maria José Gonzalez, Climate Ambassador 2026 and a key contributor to the design and development of the Shankill Tree Trail, and Silvina Sisterna, Climate Ambassador 2026 and visual artist with a particular focus on photography.
