A walk and talk with tree planting at Barnaslingan Wood led by the Coillte team overseeing the Dublin Mountains Makeover project.

As places are limited, please only book if you are sure you can attend.

This will be a slow-paced walk with many stops to discuss the makeover’s forestry interventions, the impact of Storm Darragh and some results from long term biodiversity monitoring. The walk will be on gravel trails. The tree planting will involve walking on uneven surfaces with exposed and hidden and protruding stones and roots.

Date: Friday, 2nd of October.

Meeting point: Barnaslingan carpark at 14:00

Walk: 14:00 to 15:15

Tree Planting 15:15 to 15:45 (gloves and spades will be supplied)

Walk Distance: 1.5 to 2km approximately

Bring: walking boots, rain gear, warm layers, water, and snacks.

Public Transport: Dublin Bus Route 44 serves the Barnaslingan Wood entrance on the Enniskerry to Stepaside Road, Bus Stop 4121 from Enniskerry, Bus Stop 4088 from Dublin. Note – no dogs allowed at this event.
