Extend your skills in drypoint etching with printmaker Nick Coulbeck.
We welcome Nick to People Make Grimsby, with a follow up session in Etching. After spending decades working in the local commercial printing industry, Nick now uses printmaking as his artistic practice, exhibiting his work across Lincolnshire.
Nick will deliver an informative and friendly workshop showing you how to extend and develop the drypoint etching process. Focussing on inking techniques, colour application and generally refining existing skills. You will use etching tools, acrylic plates and high quality ink and paper.
You will produce a set of prints to take home.
For the best use of the workshop time, please bring any images you may wish to use. (We do not have a digital printer for workshop use).
This workshop is suitable for adults and children over 14 years accompanied by adults, due to the use of sharp tools and ink.
Aprons will be provided but please dress appropriately.
In this workshop you will :
develop and follow up on dry point etching skills
etching and printing your own design based on the theme
use the studio space, printing presses and equipment
Is suitable for :
Adults interested in developing their existing printmaking practice
What to prepare :
An image to work with - a line drawing to fit the plate of 140mm x 100mm (no bleed over the edges).

The cost of this workshop includes specialist materials that you will be using and drinks at £10 per person.
Please note we are able to offer this workshop at the reduced cost of £10 due to partial subsidy by our Grimsby Print Project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Total number of Places 8 - Donations for materials are £10 per person.
