The Situation in Gaza:
Over half of Gaza’s homes are now in ruins or bear significant damage, with 80% of commercial facilities and 88% of school buildings suffering similar fates. The healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, with only 12 out of 35 hospitals partially functional and 130 ambulances incapacitated. Every hour in Gaza, an average of 15 people, including six children, lose their lives, while 35 are injured.
The latest death toll stands at 44,526 Palestinians killed since October 7, including more than 18,000 children. Additionally, 104,295 people have been injured, with over 12,000 missing. This humanitarian crisis demands urgent global attention and compassion.
Our Response:
In the face of the ongoing Gaza crisis, Human Concern USA (HC USA) has been a crucial source of relief. Since October, we’ve enhanced hospital capacities with medical supplies and provided essential aid, including food, water, baby formula, and diapers to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Despite challenges, we launched a Primary Health Care clinic in Rafah, serving over 50,000 patients.
During Ramadan, our mobile kitchens served 201,900 Iftar meals, and our Qurbani 2024 initiative provided fresh meat to thousands. We also offer psychosocial support, Sexual Reproductive Health Services, and hygiene kits. Beyond emergency relief, we support medical evacuees in Turkey and Egypt and facilitate the resettlement of Gaza evacuees in Canada. Our long-term efforts include a maternity hospital project in Gaza, aiming to support approximately 20 women daily. HC USA remains committed to bringing relief, hope, and lasting change to Gaza.
The situation in Lebanon:
Lebanon is currently facing a catastrophic humanitarian crisis characterized by rapid mass displacement and severe infrastructure damage. Since early March 2026, airstrikes have decimated entire communities, forcing over 1.2 million people—roughly one in five citizens—to flee their homes. This surge represents one of the fastest-growing displacement crises globally, leaving hundreds of thousands of people sleeping in cars, on streets, or in overcrowded schools and mosques that reached capacity almost immediately.
Our Response:
The situation has created life-threatening shortages of food, clean water, and medical care, with the healthcare system under immense strain as dozens of hospitals and clinics have been forced to close. Human Concern International (HCI) has mobilized its emergency response teams directly on the ground in Saida and other affected areas to address these urgent needs. By conducting rapid assessments to identify the most vulnerable households, HCI is delivering critical aid including ready-to-eat food packages, hot meals, hygiene kits, and essential shelter items like blankets and mattresses to families who have lost everything.
