Better Water for All Network Plus Early Career Conference 2026

Dear UoS colleagues,

Invitation to Better Water for All Network Plus Conference on 3rd/4th September 2026

The Better Water for All Network brings together researchers, industry, policymakers, and communities to address urgent water challenges in the UK and beyond. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across engineering, environmental science, data, and social science, the Network aims to develop innovative, equitable, and sustainable solutions for water quality, availability, and resilience. Together, we are working to ensure secure and fair access to clean water for people and ecosystems, now and in the future.

If you are interested in hearing experts share views and knowledge of water related challenges in their fields of research, business, policies and communities, please join us in person for the keynote talks on Thursday 3rd September from 9 am until 12.30 pm in the ground floor seminar room of the Rik Medlik building

Our keynote speakers are:

• Sir John Kay – Oxford Business School - The Business Economics of Water Supply

• Sarah Gillman – Scottish Water - xxx

• Brett Sallach – Environment Agency - Micro pollutant monitoring and resulting government policy

• Alistair Young – Water Rangers + Lewis Campbell – SouthEast River Trust -xx

Followed by a panel discussion introduced by Mike Rose, CEO of UKWIR

The conference is aimed at Early Career Researchers and Early Career Professionals – selected delegates will be presenting their work either orally or via poster. These sessions will take place on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September in the afternoon. You are welcome to listen to these presentations or visit the poster display. All sessions take place on the ground floor of the Rik Medlik Building.

This is an in-person event. Entrance is free but please register.

Please note that lunch catering is only available to invited delegates
