Sauerkraut Workshop – Ferment, Flavour, Flourish
with Linda North of The Green Nut
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to make traditional sauerkraut from scratch and explore the science-backed benefits of fermentation.
Fermented foods are enjoying a well‑deserved revival. They are delicious, deeply nourishing, and rich in beneficial bacteria that support your gut microbiome — which plays an important role in digestion, immunity, and even mood.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this workshop will give you the confidence and know‑how to ferment at home.
We’ll cover:
• How lacto-fermentation works and why salt creates the perfect environment for beneficial bacteria
• How fermented foods support the gut microbiome, digestion, and immune health
• Salt ratios, safety, and flavour balancing
You’ll create two jars of your own sauerkraut, experimenting with seasonal vegetables, herbs, and spices — from classic cabbage to carrots, beetroot, fennel, garlic, dill, and warming spices.
You’ll also taste a variety of fermented foods and drinks, discovering new flavour combinations and learning which vegetables create deeply flavoursome sauerkraut.
Simple ingredients. Living food. Powerful benefits.
Who is it for?
This workshop is open to everyone — from the fermentation‑curious to seasoned food lovers. It’s a great opportunity to learn, connect, and take home something nourishing you’ve made yourself.
What to bring
2 clean, sterilised jars (medium‑sized, ideally 250–500 ml each)
All other ingredients are provided.
