Join us on 3rd October 2026 for an unforgettable day of cycling along the gorgeous Downs Link, raising vital funds for FareShare Sussex & Surrey.
Starting at St Martha’s Hill, Guildford and finishing at FareShare Sussex & Surrey’s depot in Moulsecoomb, Brighton, this charity ride will cover 47 miles (76km) of beautiful countryside from Surrey to Sussex and raise funds to fight food waste and food insecurity across both counties.
The Route
The route is suitable for all cycling abilities with mostly off-road terrain following the old railway lines. It's an easy-moderate route (mostly flat gradients) with gravel, compacted earth, some tarmac and short road sections.

1 day (average 4-6 hours of cycling with support and breaks)

Fundraising
We ask riders to raise £300. We’ll support you with fundraising tips and ideas along the way.
Every mile ridden and every pound donated will help rescue good quality surplus food and deliver it to charities and community groups supporting vulnerable people across Sussex and Surrey.
Entry Requirements
Participants must be 16+
Under 18s must have parental consent and ride with a participating adult.
Please note in order to comply with FareShare Sussex and Surrey's insurance policy, it is essential to ride with a helmet during this challenge. Riders remain responsible for complying with the Highway Code and riding within their abilities.
