Poet and broadcaster Robin Ince and Brighton-based jazz combo, Sloth in the City, deliver a sparkling evening of poetry and jazz

Join us at St Margaret’s Church, Warnham, for a sparkling evening of poetry, music and celebration.

In a performance brimming with energy and emotion, award-winning comedian, writer, broadcaster and poet, Robin Ince reads poems from his recently published collections, Ice Cream for a Broken Tooth and Let the Quiet Ones Rise.

Fans of the hit BBC Radio 4 show The Infinite Monkey Cage, which Robin co‑presented for many years, will know they’re in for something special.

The energy levels are set to continue with music from the excellent jazz duo Sloth in the City. Betty and Andrea’s expertly performed, syncopated jazz rhythms were a great hit when they appeared at Horsham Museum’s Friday Late event last July. Music fans can expect another energy-filled performance, perfect for a September evening, at the event in Warnham.

The evening will also include readings of the winning poems from the 2026 poetry competition introduced by Sussex poet and Steyning festival legend Simon Zec

Our host for the evening is BBC Radio 4 Presenter Chris Aldridge, guiding us through the programme with his unrivalled warmth and wit.

At the end of the evening, Robin will be available for book signings.
