About This Event

The deer walk takes place at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden in Harrogate on 16 August 2026 at 13:30. Participants can join wildlife volunteers to see Red, Sika and Fallow Deer in the deer park and learn about their habitats.

Take a walk with the wildlife volunteers, see the deer, explore the deer park and find out more about the Red, Sika and Fallow Deer that live in Studley Royal.

With walks taking place across every season, you’ll have the chance to see how the herd changes throughout the year, from spring calves to autumn rutting displays.

If you’re into wildlife, out with the family, or simply wondering what our historic deer get up to, this walk’s a brilliant way to meet the team and explore.

Due to the proximity of the wildlife, dog are not allowed on this walk.

This activity starts at the Visitor Centre and with a walk to the deer park, these areas are free to access. If you'd like to visit the abbey ruins or the water garden before or after your walk, there is an admissions charge for this - please see the 'Prices' section of our website for more details.
