Join us this summer for a fun, active and completely FREE paddleboarding experience along Knaresborough's River Nidd!
Inspire Youth Yorkshire have teamed up with Live for Today with thanks to Eventure Knaresborough, supported by David Skaith, York and North Yorkshire Mayor and Funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority as part of the Vibrant and Sustainable High street Fund, this exciting opportunity is designed to help people of all abilities try something new, build confidence on the water, interactive riverside activities and enjoy the outdoors.
What to expect
Across the day, we will be running 4 sessions, each for up to 8 participants, giving you a 1-hour paddleboarding experience where you’ll:
Learn the basics of paddleboarding
Build confidence on the water
Try a new and exciting sport in a safe, supportive environment
No previous experience is needed — our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way.
Who can take part
Open to families and individuals
Children aged 8+ welcome (must be accompanied where required)
More than just paddleboarding
Alongside your session, enjoy a range of interactive riverside activities, including:
Water and river safety awareness activities
Fun challenges led by youth workers
Opportunities to get active, learn new skills and connect with others outdoors
(Additional partner organisations may be involved, subject to confirmation.)
Make a day of it
Refreshments available from Marigolds Café and KingFisher Kiosk nearby
Enjoy a scenic nature walk along the riverside – why not explore the route towards the castle after your session?

Pre-booking required – spaces are limited
Choose your preferred 1-hour time slot when booking
Each session is capped at 8 participants to ensure a high-quality experience
