About This Event

Sunday 29 November | 1.30pm A Sunday lunch with a little more swing. Join us at Barnaby’s Lounge for an intimate afternoon of bluesy jazz with Bjorn Dahlberg and Matt Jackson —two musicians bringing their own rich musical voices to a saxophone-and-guitar duo. Swedish-born saxophonist Bjorn Dahlberg draws on a wide-ranging jazz heritage, with influences spanning the cool-toned lyricism of Paul Desmond to the expressive sound of Wayne Shorter and Jan Garbarek. His tenor saxophone moves naturally between jazz, blues, soul, funk and New Orleans grooves, giving each tune room to breathe and surprise. Beside him, guitarist Matt Jackson brings a deep feel for blues and roots music, shaping the duo’s sound with a warm tone, instinctive phrasing and a strong sense of groove. Together, they create music that feels both relaxed and alive—full of soulful melodies, spontaneous exchanges and the kind of chemistry that can’t be rehearsed. Settle in for a leisurely Sunday lunch with Winnie’s Pizza Co. , serving New York-style pizza, small plates, dips and more from 12pm. Make an afternoon of it with good food and live music.
