Strengthening curriculum and pedagogy in the EYFS

This full-day program is designed for Reception teachers, EYFS leaders, senior leaders and practitioners seeking to strengthen curriculum design and pedagogical practice within their early years provision.

Through a combination of reflection, discussion and practical examples, delegates will develop a deeper understanding of how curriculum and pedagogy work together to improve outcomes for children.

The session will explore:

• Ofsted expectations for curriculum, teaching and learning

• Developing a clear and coherent curriculum offer

• Sequencing learning so that knowledge and skills build over time

• Teaching approaches that support children's learning and development

• Explicit teaching and the evidence that underpins it

• The distinction between curriculum and pedagogy

• How continuous provision, enhanced provision and the learning environment support learning

• Ensuring consistency between curriculum intent and classroom practice

The program is led by highly experienced early years professionals with extensive inspection experience and a deep understanding of the current inspection framework. All facilitators have been leaders within schools and early years settings and have broad experience across the early years sector.
