The Bucks Culture Conference 2026 explores themes of creative leadership, culture, and artificial intelligence in a changing world. It is scheduled to take place from 9:30 AM on 5 November 2026 at the Union Baptist Church.

Bucks Culture invites you to explore challenges, share ideas and consider trends across the cultual sector in order to work together for a better creative and sustainable future. The day will consider how the arts can adapt to change whilst honouring the ethos and ethics of socially engaged practice

The Conference runs from 09:30 – 16:30 as follows:

10:00 - 10:05 Kerry Lanigan, Bucks Culture, Welcome to the Space, health & safety, house keeping and intro to Compere.

10:05 -10:10 John Prebble Creative Producer at Poetry Exchange, a poem to set the tone of the day, introduction to Julius Weinberg, Co-chair at Bucks Culture.

10:10 – 10:15 Julius Weinberg - Reflecting on 5 years as Chair with Bucks Culture, thank you to our hosts - intro to Lallie Davis, Director of Bucks Culture

10:15 – 10:20 Lallie Davis Reflecting on 5 years as Director at Bucks Culture - Shares insight into impact, evaluation and showcases the work of Bucks Culture.

10:20 – 10:40 Will Gompertz, Director at Sir John Soanes Museum, opens the conversation with a welcome and invites the sudience to "Think Like an Artist".

10:40 – 11:05 Owen Hopkin, Director of New Technologies and Innovation at Arts Council England - How does an 80-year-old cultural institution adapt in the face of rapid technological change and how does it continue to support new and evolving forms of practice?

11:05 - 11:15 Musical Interlude – Rosie Axon Founder at Chiltern Music Therapy

11:15 – 11:40 Christopher Kelly, Artist practitioner & Founder of Neuroverse Artists Collective Integrating Technology and Adopting AI into Creative Practice

13:00 - 13.45 - Workshop: Managing sustainability with(out) AI: Join Pietari Kaapa, Professor in Media and Communications at Warwick University for an interactive workshop to evaluate responsible ways to apply AI tools in managing cultural production

13:00 - 13.45 - Workshop: Shared Environments - offering a glimpse into how disabled-led performance group Signdance Collective explore phrase, gesture and simple shared rhythm.

13:00 - 13:45 - Workshop: Talking About AI in Culture, join founder Jocelyn Burnham for a structured group discussion exploring the ethical use of AI across the cultural sector.

14:00 - 14:10 - Building networks and celebrating place-based projects, in conversation with We Make Wycombe

14:10 - 14:20 - Together We Grow Celebrating 5 Beautiful Years at Bucks Culture, with Lallie Director at Bucks Culture

14:20 - 14:30 - Snapshot Showcase - Showcasing the Best of Culture in Bucks. Snapshot is a short-form documentary and digital storytelling project commissioned by Bucks Culture to showcase the breadth, ambition and impact of Buckinghamshire's creative sector.

14:30 – 15:15 Conversation, Cake and Coffee - Panel Conversation, how can creativity, community and innovation help shape a more inclusive and sustainable future - Bucks Birthday Cake

15:15 – 15:25 Drinks and Snacks.

15:25 – 15:45 Bucks Spark Awards - HM Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, The Countess Howe

About The Union Baptist Church

The Hub at the Union Baptist Church is a convenient and welcoming venue in the centre of High Wycombe. Situated 5 minutes from the town centre, High Street and shopping centres and within a 5-minute walk from the train station, with mainline links to London, Birmingham & Oxford. The Bus station is a 10 minute walk.
