The Task:
It's that time of year folks! Keeping the grassland in tip top condition for butterflies and pollinators by raking the cut grass. Feel free to join us for an hour, two hours or stay all day! Our chalk grassland needs your support!
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
10.00: Arrival on site for task and safety briefing, please don't be late
10.15: Activity begins
11.30: Tea and coffee break
13.00: Lunch time, please bring your own
15.30: Home time, thanks for your support!
What to Bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. If it's sunny you may need a hat and suncream.
Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
