Stitch your story onto a fabric patch to become part of the Calderdale Calico Dress

Thread Collective are leading the Calderdale Calico Dress, a community art project inspired by Kirstie Macleod’s world-renowned Red Dress.

We are hosting a series of free, drop-in stitching sessions to contribute to the Calico Dress. Participants are invited to stitch a small patch that tells a snippet of their story, personal history, identity, or what our local area means to them. Patches will be sewn onto the Calico Dress, creating a community art piece that celebrates the wonderful Calderdale community.

The project is open to everyone, and no prior stitching experience is needed! We are holding free guided drop-in sessions and all materials are provided. Everyone is welcome to drop in and stitch their patch in good company.
