If you're 16 or over, come and join our free sessions to learn to ride or improve your cycle control skills. Bikes/helmets available.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority's FREE adult cycle training programme aims to enable more people to travel by bike. Sessions run weekly, except bank holiday weekends and around Christmas and Nw Year.

Qualified instructors run these sessions, which are available to adults aged 16+ unless specified as a family event. You can bring your own bike, or one will be provided for you.

WHAT'S ON...

Learn to ride - for those new to cycling. These traffic-free sessions will help you balance, glide and then progress to setting off, pedalling, riding under control and making the bike go where you want.

Beginners – develop your cycling skills and confidence. If you can already ride, we can help you develop skills to include using gears, riding whilst looking all around, and riding on narrow paths such as towpaths. These sessions take place in traffic free environments and towpaths around Leeds Rd Sports Complex.

Improvers – Develop your cycling skills and confidence. If you can already ride, we can help you develop your skills to include signalling, riding along narrow paths (such as towpaths) and even how to control the traffic when riding on quiet roads. These sessions take place on the towpaths, greenways and quiet roads around Leeds Rd Sports Complex and are a fantastic confidence builder.

All sessions are free and you can attend as many as you wish. However, we ask if that if you can't attend a session, please come back to Eventbrite and cancel your place because we always have a waiting list of people wanting to attend.
