On Thursday 27 August 2026, Huddersfield Blues Club presents teenage guitarist Jack Austin Despy at Smile Bar and Venue in Bradford. The Essex-born musician, already recognised as one of the UK’s rising blues talents, brings a raw energy that belies his years. His playing, honed through early performances at the Rory Gallagher Festival and the Ballyshannon Rhythm & Blues Festival, fills the room with a confident, soulful charge. The music moves from slow-burning riffs to urgent, finger-picked runs that hold the audience still. Tickets are £5, with the show starting at 7pm.

At thirteen he performed at the Rory Gallagher Festival UK in Nantwich where he amazed the audience with his guitar skills. Despite his youth, he appeared at major venues and festivals including the Ballyshannon Rhythm & Blues Festival, Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival in Ballyshannon, and the iconic 100 Club in London.In 2025 and 2026 he was nominated for the UK Blues Federation awards: Jules Fothergill Young Blues Artist of the Year in which he was a finalist.
