The Wednesday Wellbeing Ride presents a series of gentle two-hour cycles available on 2 September 2026 across locations in Kirklees and Calderdale. Organised by a friendly cycling group, these sessions invite participants to join a weekly routine focused on health and leisure. A series of gentle bike rides from various locations in Kirklees and Calderdale with our friendly cycling group.
Come and join our weekly Wednesday Wellbeing cycle rides.
These gentle 2-hour rides are free and open to adults living or working in West Yorkshire, and is led by Jane, a qualified ride leader. The group meets at various spots around Kirklees and Calderdale (see below).
Details will be provided by email on the Tuesday before each ride. Ride set off times are 9:30am or 10:00am, depending on location and will be confirmed in the email you'll receive.
Wed 5th August10am - Leeds Rd Sports Complex (HD2 1YY) to Mirfield
Wed 12th August 9:30am - Slaithwaite (HD7 5AB) towpath ride
Wed 19th August10am - Brighouse (HD6 1EJ) to Sowerby Bridge
Wed 26th August 9:30am - Slaithwaite (HD7 5AB) towpath ride
Wed 2nd Sep 10am - Leeds Road Sports Compex (HD2 1YY) to Mirfield
Wed 9th Sep and 16th Sep - no rides
Wed 23rd Sep 9:30am - Slaithwaite (HD7 5AB) towpath ride
Wed 23th Sep 10am - Brighouse (HD6 1EJ) to Sowerby Bridge
Rides are around 6 to12 miles, usually with a cafe stop. You will need to be able to use gears as there are some hills to get up on all rides.
Bikes and helmets are available to borrow without cost for all rides except Brighouse to Sowerby Bridge. If you can bring your own bike , it's even better.
If you need to borrow a bike or helmet, please email us on cvct.info@gmail.com to let us know. Please arrive 15mins ealier than start time if you need to borrow a bike so we can sort it out for you.
All we ask if that if you can't attend a session, please come back to Eventbrite and cancel your place. We always have a waiting list of people wanting to attend. Our funding depends on people turning up, so without you, we won't be able to continue.
