An introduction to glass fusing - with a festive twist!

Join Alex at Makerspace Hull for Festive Glass Fusing

Glass fusing is a popular artform that has been practiced for centuries - by heating and forming coloured glass we can create endless creations such as sculpture, tableware, and beautiful works of art. Makerspace Hull strives to keep this incredible artform alive by providing kiln firing as a publicly accessible service, using our Hobbyfuser Kiln. Join us this festive season as we guide you through making the perfect hand-made glass-fused gift!

This 2 hours session will include:

an introduction to glass cutting

guidance on types of glass and tools

tuition on how to fire a kiln

each participant will create their own glass fused tea light holder

Glass fused tea light holders will be available to collect on Mon 21st Dec due to the timings required for kiln firing

All materials will be provided, as well as tea & coffee and a tour of Makerspace Hull.

All attendees must be aged 16+

Makerspace Hull is an arts and technology workspace hosted by Hull Central Library. Our space has state of the art manual, digital and electronic equipment, skilled staff providing support and workshops, as well as space to create, invent, explore, learn, think and exhibit. We're a self-led space where you can learn new skills or rediscover old ones with support from our team.
