Enjoy being led through movement and drama exercises in a relaxed setting. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to give it a go.
Hello, my name is Sarah and I have been making music and performance for over 20 years in Hull and London. My motivation for doing it is because I feel that when we tune in to our creativity and make something new, we begin to see ourselves and the world in a new light that has more beauty and possibility within it. Creating as part of a group is exciting and unpredictable as what comes out is a combination of everyone's unique response to the stimuli.
What to expect:
Exercises to get us moving and to help us relax and begin communicating in new ways that might be more physical and less reliant on words.
Learning to listen to yourself and others - Exercises to help us tune in to the here and now so we can have easier access to our authentic responses and move away from overthinking.
Exercises to develop characters and short scenes - You will be given prompts and instructions to follow that will create a framework for you to devise a small performance within.
Oppotunities to perform in front of the group and be offered feedback and direction, helping you hone your skills and develop the character.
Who is this for:
Anyone who wants to boost their confidence.
Anyone who wants to improve their stage craft.
Anyone who wants to have a fun experience with new people.
Anyone who wants to practice their spontaneity.
More info:
The workshop will be held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.
We will have a tea break (biscuits provided)
You can wear something comfy or just what you normally wear during the day.
This will be held in the beautifully renovated, St Matthews Community Enterprise Centre. Check it out here: https://giroscope.org.uk/st-matthews-community-enterprise-centre/
The venue is wheelchair accessible. Please contact me via email with any access needs or general enquiries.
