The 10 Years of YFoES: Summer Gathering takes place at the Badaguish Outdoor Centre in Inverness. The event focuses on climate and social justice. Tickets cost between £10.00 and £20.00.
Looking for a weekend to recharge, meet inspiring people and build your confidence to take action on climate and social justice?
A 3-day camp bringing groups and young people together from across Scotland to connect, collaborate and recharge - build your skills, find your place in the movement and collectively explore what comes next in the fight for climate and social justice.
Who it's for:
You don't need to be a YFoES member already to come along! Anyone aged 18-30 is welcome - whether you’re completely new to activism or a seasoned pro, this weekend is for you. Many people come without knowing anyone beforehand. We'll help everyone settle in, meet others and feel part of the weekend from the moment you arrive.
What to expect:
Expect inspiring conversations, shared meals, time outdoors, creative sessions, practical workshops and plenty of space to connect with other young people who care.
By the end of the weekend you'll:
have new friends and connections across Scotland
feel more confident taking action
discover new campaigns and opportunities
learn practical organising skills
spend a restorative weekend in the Cairngorms
Cost shouldn't be a barrier. We can help cover travel and ticket costs - just get in touch (young@foe.scot).
Programme overview:
Day 1: Connect - Arrivals, set up + welcoming session
Day 2: Learn + Create -
10 years + next chapter of organising
Just Transition or Climate Justice 101
Intro to campaign strategy (People& Planet) or Skills for election work (GNDR)
Disability Justice Writing Workshop or Nature Walk
Open Space + Evening enternainment
Day 3: Take Action -
Climate Anxiety + Wellbeing or Relational organising and leadership
Group sharing space + find your place
Camp Information + Access
Arrivals + Travel Support
Public Transport: Aviemore Train Station is the closest connection to the venue from major cities via both rail and bus (bus travel free for under 22s). We advise booking any travel tickets as soon as possible.
On Friday shuttle pickup from Aviemore Train Station will be between 4:30 – 6:30pm (for majority to arrive on site, camping set up and welcome session). We will contact you to confirm your arrival time to allocate shuttles.
On Sunday please only book public transport travel options from the 3:57pm train/bus onwards from Aviemore Train Station.
Accessibility:
The gathering is tent camping with limited indoor space for accessibility and support needs. Badaguish Outdoor Centre has level access across the site, with some wheelchair accessible bed/bathroom spaces in the lodge. More info here.
There is wheelchair space available on shuttle buses. Aviemore train station access info here.
What's included:
Food will be provided across the weekend for standard ticket holders. Day tickets include lunch but no shuttle/ accomodation.
Attendees should bring their own camping gear (tent, sleeping mat/bag). Some spare camping equipment may be available to those who need that indicated in the form. Full list sent out in event info pack.
