Join us as we explore Elgin's historic town centre, creating a sketchbook of our journey.

A creative walk around Elgin’s historic town centre, explore the buildings and streetscape around us. Inspired by the work of Sir George Reid RSA in our collection, we’ll create observational sketches, in monochrome, using a variety of materials to capture a unique record of our journey. Please note: all materials are included in your ticket price.

Known mainly for being a portrait painter, George Reid was also noted for his black and white (monochrome) works, using pen & ink and watercolours sketches.

This event is being run as part of the RSA200: Celebrating Together, a year of events celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Scottish Academy.

Suitable for ages 18+

No previous drawing experience required

All materials will be provided

Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day (layers, hat / sunglasses, sunscreen) and wear comfortable shoes for walking. If you have a small folding or portable stool, feel free to bring this with you. Please bring any water / snacks you may require.
