About This Event

A paddlesports summer session for families and youth aged 10–14 will be held at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre on 30 August 2026. The activity begins at 09:00 and focuses on building confidence on the water. The cost per person is £6.13.

Join Equal Adventure for our Inclusive Youth and Focused Family Paddlesports Summer Sessions at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre. Set in the heart of the Cairngorms, these welcoming sessions are designed to help children, young people, adults and families enjoy the outdoors through kayaking and canoeing in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

Whether you're picking up a paddle for the first time, returning after some time away, or looking to enjoy a memorable day outdoors with your family, our experienced team will support you every step of the way.

Morning Youth Session (Ages 10–14): A fun and supportive paddlesports experience for young people.

Afternoon Family & Focused Session (Ages 15+): Suitable for individuals, families and small groups of 4–6 people.

Morning Group Session (Ages 10–14)

🕘 Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Designed especially for young people aged 10–14, this fun and engaging group session introduces participants to paddlesports in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Parents or carers are required to accompany young participants throughout the session to provide support where needed and enjoy the outdoor experience together.

Afternoon Family & Focused Paddlesports Session (Ages 15+) | Loch Insh

Time: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Adventure is even better when it's shared.

Our afternoon session has been designed as a family-focused and inclusive paddlesports experience, giving individuals and families the opportunity to enjoy time together on the water in a safe, supportive environment.

Whether you're attending as an individual, with your parents, siblings, carers or your own family, everyone is welcome to experience the outdoors together.

There is no expectation to perform or keep up with others. Every participant is supported to learn at their own pace, with activities adapted to individual needs and goals.

Participants are encouraged to access the outdoors in the way that suits them best, with support tailored to individual needs and goals.

No previous paddling experience is necessary.

What to Bring

Please bring:

Comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather

Footwear you don't mind getting wet

Waterproof jacket

Towel

A complete change of clothes

Any personal medication required.

No cotton

Wetsuit or clothes/ swimwear for wearing on the water.

If you are wearing clothes on the water rather than a wetsuit make sure you bring non-cotton trousers and fleece.

Sunscreen

Warm clothes

Extra towel if needed.
