About This Event

The Broken Creels and The Killing Tide will perform on 10 April 2027 at Upstairs Inverness. This Scottish alt rock event brings powerful live performances from various acts to the venue. Tickets are priced from £10.00 for attendance at this musical gathering.

The Broken Creels

The Broken Creels are an Aberdeenshire alt-rock band blending riff-heavy rock, Americana and psychedelia with the raw energy of a band playing together in a room. Fronted by award-winning singer-songwriter Colin Clyne, The Broken Creels draw on decades of collective live and studio experience while keeping things deliberately uncomplicated. Big guitars, strong melodies, swampy grooves and songs with something to say. No gimmicks, no trickery or technological skulduggery.

The bands connection with Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival goes back further than TheBroken Creels themselves. Festival promoter Rob Ellen first booked Clyne to perform atBelladrum after his return to Scotland from a decade living and making music in California.Years later, after being invited to a Broken Creels rehearsal in rural Aberdeenshire, Ellen compared the experience to being in the studio with U2 while they were recording "Boy". He booked the band to headline Belladrum & inaugural Medicine Music Moose Hollow on the strength of what he heard.

The Broken Creels debut single, "Friend or Foe", reached No.1 in the UK iTunes Rock Chart in April 2023, followed by "Killing on the Rail Line", which peaked at No.2 later that year. The band have since built a reputation for powerful live performances across Scotland.

More recent releases have seen the bands songwriting take an increasingly socially observant turn. "Austerity Kills" tackled the human consequences of austerity, while "Moon Howler" turns its attention to online rage, polarisation and a world where everyone has a platform, everyone has a voice and seemingly fewer people are using their eyes and ears.

Recorded with producer and engineer Steve Curtis at Aberdeens York Street Studio, The Broken Creels music remains rooted in the chemistry of a band playing together, capturing the energy, imperfections and unpredictability that come with it.

The Killing Tide

The Killing Tide are a four-piece rock band from North-East Scotland, delivering anthemic, emotionally charged performances that have been making waves across the Scottish music scene.

With towering guitars, marching drums, and textured, heartfelt vocals, their sound is as vast and dramatic as the coastline that inspires them.

Drawing influence from the rugged landscapes of their home, The Killing Tide's music captures both the calm and the chaos of the sea moments of reflection that swell into powerful, soaring choruses. Their songs carry a raw honesty that resonates deeply with audiences, creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and full of energy.

Renowned for their passionate and high-energy live shows, The Killing Tide have built a following through their ability to connect with crowds and turn every performance into a shared emotional journey.

Their self-recorded tracks have received play on BBC Introducing that have cemented their reputation as one of Scotland's most exciting emerging acts.

The band released their debut album, Carry Us Across the Sea, in early 2026 a powerful collection of songs that capture their signature blend of alternative and Scottish-inspired rock. With evocative soundscapes, heartfelt lyrics, and an unmistakably cinematic feel, The Killing Tide continue to rise, carrying audiences with them on a tide of sound, emotion, and connection..

With their debut album and a growing list of live performances alongside acts such as Big Country, Mànran, and Torridon..

The Killing Tide a band whose sound, spirit, and storytelling continue to carry audiences across every shore...
