About This Event

Local Yokel will present an exhibition of contemporary art at 24 High St in Ipswich on August 13, 2026. This exhibition is stated to be free entry.

Local yokel presents a high-quality exhibition of thought-provoking contemporary art in the heart of a historic market town in Suffolk

Local Yokel brings together artists who have a strong connection to Suffolk; who live and work and/or grew up locally and those who also now work internationally. Some of the artists are very established and some have never shown their work before.

The work is diverse in its focus, scale, appearance, approach, materials, and the techniques used. What connects the work? It’s inspired by, and emanates from, the local or rural or everyday and yet becomes universal in its presence, connections and meanings.

Local yokel presents a high-quality exhibition of thought-provoking contemporary art in the heart of a historic rural market town in coastal Suffolk.

Local Yokel – the exhibition is located at The Art Station buildings on the high street 24 High St (The Old Bank) and 48 High St (The Telephone Exchange) and in The Art Station riverside garden – behind 24 High St.
