Reflecting on the rise of the far right in York and beyond.

Defending the university: Fascism, free inquiry and the question of safety is a series of events organised by staff and students at the University of York.

As part of this series, Aaron Winter, senior lecturer in Sociology (Racism and Anti-Racism) at Lancaster University, will be giving a talk reflecting on the rise of the far right in York and beyond. His talk will provide sociological insight into how we’ve reached this moment, reflecting on histories of fascism (and anti-fascist resistance) and detailing the normalisation of far-right talking points over the last 20-30 years.
