Step into an afternoon of autumn magic with Moonwater & Thyme at the Old Boys’ School (Old Free Grammar School) in Bolton-le-Sands.

Enjoy a cosy and creative family Halloween experience filled with pumpkin carving, spell-making, magical storytelling and seasonal refreshments.

Alongside the family activities, visitors of all ages are warmly invited to browse two charming pop-up stalls filled with witchy gifts, handcrafted Halloween creations and unusual autumn treasures.

The Family Halloween Experience

Each £15 child ticket includes:

• One pumpkin to carve and take home

• A miniature spell jar to fill and personalise

• A larger spell scroll to write or draw, decorate and take home

• A magical story told by a mysterious visiting witch

• A Halloween gingerbread treat

• An enchanted seasonal drink

• All the craft materials needed for the activities

Magical storytelling

Gather around for a magical story told by a rather extraordinary visiting witch—but exactly who might appear will remain a Halloween surprise.

Timed sessions

To give families sufficient time and space to enjoy the activities, the Family Halloween Experience will take place across three timed sessions:

• 12.00–1.10 pm

• 1.20–2.30 pm

• 2.40–3.50 pm

Activity places are limited within each session, and advance booking is strongly recommended.

Please arrive five to ten minutes before your booked session. Families are welcome to browse the pop-up stalls before or after their activities.

Pop-up stalls – free to browse

Our two pop-up stalls will be open from 12.00–4.00 pm:

• Moonwater & Thyme, offering carefully curated witchy boxes, jewellery, mystical keepsakes and unusual seasonal gifts

• Froggies, offering beautiful wooden pieces and other handmade autumnal and Halloween creations

Adults, families and visitors without children are all warmly invited to browse, discover something unusual and enjoy the autumn atmosphere.

There is no charge and no ticket is required to visit the pop-up stalls. Children without an activity ticket are welcome to browse with an accompanying adult but will not be able to participate in the booked Halloween activities.

Tickets

Tickets cost £15 per participating child. One accompanying adult may join the child during their booked activity session.

Advance booking is strongly recommended because a pumpkin and set of craft materials must be prepared for every participating child. Any activity tickets available on the day will be subject to availability.

Important information

• Children must remain accompanied by a responsible adult throughout.

• This is not a drop-off event.

• Adults must assist and supervise their children during pumpkin carving.

• Some activities contain small craft materials.

• Ingredient and allergen information will be available for the refreshments.

• Costumes are warmly encouraged but entirely optional.
