Most academics start by packaging what they’ve already done. They lead with their CV, their publications, their methodology. Nobody buys it.

This practical workshop teaches you to find problems first, then position your expertise as the fix. You’ll learn how to build a business offering that clients actually want to pay for, and how to write commercialisation into your next funding bid so the money comes from your university’s budget.

You’ll leave with a commercialisation plan and a costed offering you can use the same week.

Run by Dr Alice Ashcroft, who built a consulting business out of her PhD research, spun that into a software startup, and secured Innovate UK funding without a university behind her.
