The Smartphone Free Childhood Lancaster Discussion Group will be held at The Gregson Centre in Lancaster, providing a parent-led space for open discussion and sharing of ideas related to childhood experiences in a digital age. All are welcome to participate. The event is free to attend.
We are excited to warmly welcome you to our next friendly discussion and thinking space. The session is parent-led, and all are welcome.
We will discuss ideas to support each other delaying giving our own children smartphones, and also support each other with taking action locally, for example discussing smartphone free childhood with our children's school leaders. There will be opportunity to network with other parents/carers from local schools. We will share exciting new developments, and problem-solve through challenges. We will also be exploring the bigger picture of supporting cultural change nationally.
We warmly welcome children and young people to get involved in the session, including sharing their hopes, ideas and concerns.
Smartphones have fundamentally reshaped childhood. Not because this is what any of us want for our kids. Just because, until now, choosing another path has felt impossible.
Our mission is to bring people together to stand up for healthier, happier childhoods. Smartphone Free Childhood isn’t about banning tech or turning back time – it’s about giving children more of what really matters: time, connection, and freedom to be kids. We help families delay smartphones and social media together – building community, sharing support, and changing the conversation. Step by step. Brick (phone) by brick (phone).
Because real change doesn’t come from the top down. It starts with all of us, working together. United for childhood.
