Join local artist Maria Santos for a workshop in botanical plaster casting as part of our Art in Nature workshop series.

Using natural elements from the site, including leaves and flowers, this workshop will guide you, step by step, on how to create your own relief art work. It will explain and demonstrate how to prepare the clay, create a composition pressing plant on clay and cast it.

This event is FREE to attend but Eventbrite tickets are required. We only have limited spaces so please book a ticket for each attendee.

Come prepared for the weather and wear shoes suitable for gentle walking.

The event is for adults, or for adults and young people to attend together. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Our Art in Nature events series is part of the Seasons of Culture Programme funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Council through the Leeds Cultural Investment Programme.

Note on getting here:

Please be aware that there is currently a security cabin and gate partway along Skelton Grange Road. This is for the waste-to-energy site next door to the Environment Centre. If you travel by car they may note the vehicle registration, ask for the driver’s name and where you are going (tell them TCV). It is simply to keep track of traffic entering and leaving. If you are walking or cycling you can go straight past. Essentially, don’t be worried when you see it, you are going to the right place!
