Our Transcapes will take place in Leeds, exploring 10,000 years of British history related to non-binary identities. The event includes a talk, a creative writing workshop, and a mindfulness exercise, welcoming all attendees.
Come and explore 10,000 years of British history that show how natural and ancient it is to live in 'non-dual' ways:
Ways that defy binary oppositions and static ideas of who we should be.
And a lot of this history is in Yorkshire!
Join us for a relaxed chat about the past with artefact replicas and artworks to explore. We'll share a creative writing workshop after the talk, using what we've learned from prehistory to write or draw along with a short mindfulness exercise, where we 'dialogue' with the artefacts in relation to our own identities.
This event is great for trans and queer folks, but anyone who attends the venue is welcome.
Facilitator
S.K. Marley is a trans* non-binary writer, researcher and creative facilitator based in Sheffield, England. They explore how British prehistoric communities lived in non-dual ways and what we could learn from them. Find out more at skmarley.co.uk (https://skmarley.co.uk/).
Accsessibility information:
This event will be held at Pride Place @ Flamingos (LS1 6DX). The space is entirely on the ground floor and the surface is level with wide opening doors.
