This event is part of our ongoing series of workshops aimed at introducing participants to new crafts and techniques, and it offers an affordable way to explore this traditional Japanese embroidery art form.

Enjoy an introduction to Sashiko in this new taster workshop with Lorna.

Join this new Sashiko Patch workshop as part of our Thursday Taster sessions!

Learn to repair with Sashiko in a relaxed environment from experienced mending teacher Lorna.

Create strong, lasting repairs on woven fabrics using this distinctive Japanese art form.

Sashiko is known for it’s blue and white colour palette and repeating designs, and is especially good for denim repairs.

All materials will be supplied but feel free to bring a garment to repair if you wish (denim recommended).

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills.

Hot drinks and biscuits are included.

To make our Thursday taster evenings as accessable as possible, we have made the tickets as low cost as we can without affecting the quaility of the workshop. If you would really like to attend this workshop but feel you cannot afford the ticket price please contact jen@stitch-up.org.uk as we sometimes have hardship bursary places available.

Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise and any profits made are reinvested straight back into delivering our creative community projects supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Leeds to learn new skills and improve wellbeing.

We will also be using this time to gain feedback from participants about what creative activities they would like to see going forward at Meanwood Community Centre so all feedback is greatly appreciated.

There is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.

The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up.
