Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Leeds will open its doors on Saturday, 5 September 2026, from 11:00 AM onwards to celebrate its annual open day. This free event is designed for families who wish to immerse themselves in nature and engage in a range of activities suitable for all ages. Visitors can look forward to interactive exhibits, guided nature walks, and educational workshops that promise to be both informative and entertaining. Whether young or old, there will be plenty of enriching experiences on offer at this popular local attraction.

Join us on Saturday 5 September 2026 for our annual Skelton Grange Environment Centre Fundraising Open Day.
Come along to explore and celebrate our green oasis beside the River Aire. Just 2 miles from Leeds City Centre, is a former industrial site that has been transformed into a haven for wildlife and people, boasting numerous habitats including woodland, ponds and meadows.
Our popular open day will include a range of activities across the beautiful site, such as:
Craft workshops led by local artists for all ages
Woodland play and outdoor games
And more to be confirmed - watch this space!
The Skelton Grange Cafe will be open serving a range of beverages, homemade cakes and savoury treats. We will also be firing up our outdoor pizza oven!
The event is free but donations are much appreciated. Suggested donation is just £1 for adults and kids run free. Any donations and profits from the cafe will go towards TCV's work at Skelton Grange to help us provide more opportunities for young people and for volunteers. If you want to find out more about this work - please chat to a member of the TCV team on the day.

Please be aware that there is currently a security cabin and gate partway along Skelton Grange Road. This is for the construction site next door to the Environment Centre, and work upgrading the road.
If you travel by car may note the vehicle registration, ask for the driver’s name and where you are going (tell them TCV). It is simply to keep track of traffic entering and leaving. If you are walking down you can go straight past. Essentially, don’t be worried when you see it, you are going to the right place!
