Spend the day learning the fundamentals of modern upholstery as you build your own footstool from the frame up.

You’ll be guided step by step through the whole process, from assembling the frame and adding padding, to choosing and fitting your fabric. Along the way, you’ll pick up practical upholstery skills, tips and techniques, before putting the finishing touches to your very own handcrafted 14″ footstool.

By the end of the day, you’ll have a unique piece of furniture to show off at home – and the skills to inspire your next upholstery project!

What to bring: 1 metre of upholstery-grade fabric of your choice. Your tutor will provide more information about suitable fabrics before the course. All other materials and tools are provided.

Artist bio:

Anna is a Leeds-based upholsterer with a love of beautiful furniture, traditional craftsmanship and giving well-made pieces a new lease of life.

She trained in Wigan, completing the AMUSF Diploma in Upholstery, where she developed skills in both traditional and modern upholstery techniques. Her training gave her a real appreciation for the craft — from the structure and materials beneath the fabric to the finishing details that bring a piece together.

Known for her friendly, encouraging teaching style, Anna enjoys helping complete beginners discover the satisfaction of creating beautifully upholstered furniture by hand. Her courses bend the technicality of traditional upholstery tools with the materials of modern upholstery, to create a piece you will have forever.

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. As materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.

If we need to cancel the course for any reason your ticket will be fully refunded.
