The Philharmonia pulls out all the stops for a season finale packed with energy, excellence, and copious amounts of drama.
Things get off to a vibrant start in Louise Farrenc's concert overture – a seven-minute orchestral workout with many a catchy melody on the way. Celebrated in her lifetime for her music of power and poise, an acclaimed concert pianist and internationally renowned composer, Farrenc was the only woman professor at the Paris Conservatoire in the whole of the 19th century.
